Gratitude, I think (still a thought in process) is antithetical to envy and jealousy. I have issues with envy. I wanted to grow up and be beautiful but all I got was me, plain, sufficient, healthy, even strong, but not beautiful. I suspect that most American girls learn self-image that way.(I hope you have seen the Real Beauty Dove Add, maybe I’ll post it just in case. It’s amazing.)
So I’m working on gratitude today and thinking about releasing expectations. I’m thinking about what it might be like to accept where I am and not wish for something better.
And thank you for posting your sermons. So often I call home and my friends say, “hey did you hear or read what Steven said?” and then I have to come see. So it’s cool that you’re posting them.
