Worship
Provides the central experience of celebrating God's love, from which everything else flows.
Worship Ministry
Worship at First Presbyterian Church of Bend represents the
grounding and core of everything we do as followers of Jesus.
In worship, we bring praise, honor and glory to God, connect
with the Gospel message, sing songs that uplift and transform,
while seeking both peace and direction for serving God’s
individual call to service.
Worshipers have a variety
of worship styles in which to connect with God’s love.
Many worshipers here connect with more than one. Know that you
are welcome at any time at any service of worship. Because, at
First Presbyterian of Bend, “All Are
Welcome….Always!”
Child care is always provided during services of worship. On
Sunday mornings, classes & gatherings for children and
youth are offered every week.
9:00 am, Sunday. Contemporary songs of praise are led by The Praise Team, under direction of accomplished musician, Julie Eberhard, Worship Leader. Team singers and instrumentalists accompany worship with both electronic and acoustic instruments. The pastor brings the same message of the morning offered at each of the Sunday morning services.
10:45 am, Sunday Traditional hymns, the organ, piano and Chancel Choir accompany this service, with music under the direction of noted Central Oregon leader, Dr. Clyde Thompson, Director of Music for FPC. Choral works, anthems and classical instruments support the themes of the day. The pastor brings the same message of the morning offered at each of the Sunday morning services.
“The 5:01!” FPC’s
new Sunday Night Worship! 5:01 pm Every Sunday
evening. It’s FPC’s newest weekly worship
experience, a fourth in our venue of weekly worship
opportunities, and with a unique new style: relaxed,
comfortable, come-as-you-are, filled with high energy, powerful
music and a message from Pastor Koski. It’s 45 minutes in
length, and unlike any other. Afterwards, dinner will be
offered in The Commons: a light soup-and-salad meal for
everyone. There will be a special program for children. Child
care will be provided as well. Mark “The 5:01” on
your calendar for a completely new and power-filled experience!
6:00 pm, Wednesday Taize songs, prayer, time
of quiet and communion embrace a peaceful contemplative worship
time each week. The fourth Wednesday of the month, this service
also embraces the added dimension of seeking peace in our
troubled world. This is a time of contemplative solace and
meditation. 45-minutes.
