After distributing more than 2,000 copies of the book it is now out of print. When recent requests were made for the book I decided to make use of modern technology. Thus the book is now produced in this cyber-form. The book was copyrighted in 1985 with all rights reserved, including the right to reproduce the contents or portions thereof in any form whatsoever.
I have been a Presbyterian all my life. There are some who suggest this is a prime example of what is wrong with the Presbyterian doctrine of pre-destination. I am a Presbyterian minister. Some call this double pre-destination. I graduated from Arizona State University (known throughout the state of Arizona) and San Francisco Theological Seminary (known throughout the city of San Anselmo, California), writing my Doctor of Ministry dissertation on the theology of humor. (If you haven t caught the humor in this paragraph then my studies were all for naught)
I am now retired following more than forty years of ministry in four communities: Santa Maria, California; San Leandro, California; Medford, Oregon; and Los Alamos, New Mexico. My wife Andrea and I now live in Bend, Oregon. We have two sons, Steve and Mike, two daughters-in-law, Mary and Jayne, and three grandchildren, Kathy, Ellie and Will.
Jay Dee Conrad
February 2011

Now lets go to the Introduction.
Jump to the Table of Contents.
